SUMMER OF RIGHTS

Women entrepreneurs, women employed in the destination management, in hospitality, women engaged in the business of wine and gastronomy and/or the production of crafts and culture – are calling for all to join them in subscribing to the Women’s Empowerment Principles laid out by UN Women and the UN Global Compact.

These 7 Principles are aimed at enhancing the status of women and promoting gender equality in the world of business.

Also in the case of tourism, there is a need to:
- Facilitate access to credit, education, training and professional development and equal involvement in decision-making processes
- Guarantee support, security, equal pay and sharing of benefits
- Target new tourism markets that recognise and value women’s vision through their policies, agendas and marketing practices.

Equality Means Business, therefore, we invite tourism and travel businesses to sign up to and encourage others to sign up to the Women’s Empowerment Principles.
