Gender equality and non-discrimination are central to the work of the ILO.
The Gender and Non-Discrimination Programme (GNDP)of the International Training Center ITC-ILO -within the framework of the ILO Decent Work’s Agenda- capitalizes on twenty years of experience in capacity building for gender mainstreaming and women’s socio-economic empowerment.
Besides acting as a catalyst for a gender perspective in all the Centre's policies, programmes and activities, the Programme designs and runs training activities and projects that focus on gender and non-discrimination in Turin, in the regions and on-line.
Face-to-face training courses
The Programme regularly runs face-to-face training workshops that last 1 to 2 weeks in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. Tailor-made activities may involve other languages, too.
Tailor-made activities
Tailor-made capacity-building programme and awareness-raising campaigns are designed to meet the requests of donors or national organizations. They often have input from both the ILO and the ITC-ILO gender networks.
On-line learning: the Gender Campus
The GNDP has been a pioneer in designing and running on-line learning and information programmes. Its multi-lingual “Gender Campus” offers a wide range of modular courses on gender issues in the world of work and in sustainable development.
