Alonissos, the ancient Ikos, is an island of the archipelago of the Northern Sporades together with Skiatos, Skopelos and Skyros. To reach this magical place, you have two options: flying to Skiathos, the only airport of the archipelago, then taking a ferry or hydrofoil; otherwise flying to Athens, then taking a bus to Volos or Agios Konstantinos.

Who arrives by car in Volos, Agios Konstantinos or Thessaloniki can directly take a ferry or hydrofoil.

It is a place dominated by unspoiled nature and the clear waters make it a true paradise, from where mass tourism is still far away.

It is a "scooter-friendly" island: there is only one road that crosses it from North to South, through pine forests, olive groves and small streets that lead to beautiful beaches.

On summer evenings, among the old fortified stone houses, there is a magical atmosphere.

You can wander through the streets where cafes and taverns have reopened and, if you are lucky, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the island or participate in folk festivals where traditional music resounds.

If you want to try typical dishes, in the taverns ask for the astakomanestra, a pasta dish with lobster, or an excellent tiropita: to finish with an ouzo, lulled by the Meltemi wind, watching the stars in the direction of Olympus.

Furthermore, it is the only inhabited island of the National Marine Park of Alonissos and the Northern Sporades, it is the largest marine park in Europe. It is a masterpiece of biodiversity where more than 300 species of fish, dolphins and a few species of seal.

If Alonissos has convinced you, run! Greece is waiting for you!
