Now there are tools for those who study and work in tourism and want to adapt to trends and rules of inclusion, up to the Gender Certification.

 

Last news for Italy and Europe: the European Council has just approved definitively the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

On the 24th of march a new UNI/PdR 125:2022 practice for gender equality has been presented. It defines the criteria and the functional elements for the certification of gender equality.

This certification aim to increase the business to apply new policies regarding gender equality and filling the gender gap. It has a series of indicators (KPI) and six areas of evaluations: culture, strategies, governance, HR, opportunity to grow, inclusion, equal pay and home-work balance. The areas are to be evaluated every two years.

Iaia Pedemonte for GRT wrote the new “GRT Manual of Gender Equality in Tourism”, with a list of standards, practices and advice on how to make the touris sector less discriminatory and as inclusive as possible.

From these trends and norms, GRT has thought about those who work in tourism. In 2022 Iaia Pedemonte linked the details of international norms and recommendations to the practice, with the "GRT Manual of Gender Equality in Tourism", which contains rules and advice on how to make the tourism sector less discriminatory and as inclusive as possible.
For the students we prepared lessons on good practices, stereotypes, inclusiveness.
For professionals and companies we have held lectures within the ED&I Manager and Auditor course of the Strazzeri Group, consultants in Risk & Compliance Management, Auditing, Traning, CSR, according to the principles of the Global Reporting Initiative, related to ISO Standards and UN sdgs. The first lessons were held in the summer of 2022, within the Modular Qualifying Training Course for the certification of Gender Equality and Inclusion, with examples and details applied to tourism.
